Do you suffer from Shiny Object Syndrome?

Have you ever got in to an awful habit that you just can’t get out of? If could be smoking, drinking or even drugs. And you needed help and support in order to quit. Lets say you smoked and you

I have a friend who has tried numerous time to quit smoking, she has bought nearly every single product or device you can think of, to try and help her quit, but the urge to buy the latest product or device is so great within her that she just can’t stop which results in her not giving up smoking.

In the internet marketing world nearly everyone I know falls into a very awful habit at the beginning, hey, even I fell into it. It’s called the “Shiny Object Syndrome”. Falling in this habit, is awful and crippling for you and your business.hqdefault

What is Shiny Object Syndrome?

Shiny Object Syndrome or SOS as it can sometimes be called, is an attraction to the latest objects or product that comes along and you focus all of your attention and drive on that until the another shiny object comes along and you buy that.

How to spot SOS?

This is some of the symptoms you might have and never knew you had it.

  1. You have 10 business ideas but NO business
  2. You have over 25 domain names registered but no website
  3. You already bought 30 products but never looked at them
  4. You paid for Internet Marketing Conventions but never attended or came out empty handed
  5. Have 3 or 4 blogs in different niche markets collecting cob webs
  6. You start something but NEVR finish it

Does this sound familiar?

If this sounds familiar and you are in this habit, don’t worry the can break yourself free from it.

Start something today! Yes, something you might already be good at. Start it and keep with it for at least 5 months, if it doesn’t start to make you money then drop it and start something new. Yes this might sound crazy but if it’s not made you some money by the end of the 6th month then you might have, unfortunately bought in to a scam.

But if it’s started to make you money, now I am not talking millions but $50 – $100 constantly then DECIDE do you want to stick to it? Is it profitable? Are you spending too much time just to make that amount of money? Is there room for growth? Can you earn more or it that it? And most of all, Do you enjoy it? If, YES then stick to it.

Trust me, if you act on this advice you, your credit card and your bank balance will thank me for it.

Until Next Time . . . .

    Hi Tasleem,

I can totally relate to what your saying above.

In fact I was getting notified by Godaddy only last week of some domains that were expiring and I couldn’t even remember buying them!

Keep up the good work, look forward to some more interesting posts.

    Cheers

    Jon
